As a man who enjoys his hats, shoes (especially boots), and has a beard and mustache, I get a lot of questions about where I get my stuff from. Chances are you’ll know these brands, but some of these may surprise you. Gentlemen, keep reading to take your style to the next level by learning these men's style and lifestyle brands you should know.
Hats and accessories
Anyone who knows me knows that I love my fedoras and driving caps, and for whatever reason people seem to think I have super expensive hats, which isn’t true. It may shock you to learn that a lot of my hats were found in stores like Kohls and Target. However, there are two brands that I always suggest people to look into: Goorin Bros and Stetson.
Another question that I get a lot is, “where do you get your glasses from?” and without pause I always respond with Warby Parker. I love their glasses, they’re affordable but solid quality. Plus, for every pair of glasses they sell, they give away a pair to someone in need.
While I don’t wear a tie often, I do prefer getting my ties from Tough Apparel. They make quality––are you ready?––machine washable ties. Not to mention they’re affordable and durable. You don’t have to worry about taking the tie to dry cleaners after you spill coffee on them (or is that just me?), just toss em’ in the wash.
Shoes and boots
Okay, for those who know me, you know I’m the farthest thing from a sneakerhead, so we’re not going to get into sneakers other than I love Vans. However, I do love my boots, and there are two boot companies I will always suggest: Dr. Martens (Docs) and Thursday Boot Company.
The first time I ever wore a pair of Docs, I wasn’t sure how I felt because they were bulkier than I expected. However, once you break Docs in and find some outfits that pair well with them, I fell in love. Another reason I absolutely love Docs is because they’re so durable––my first pair I wore almost daily and they lasted over five years.
On the other hand, I just bought my first pair of Thursday Boots a few months ago. I always wanted a pair because they’re such a sustainable company by using small production runs and hand picked leathers. Not to mention, the boots look awesome. So, if you don’t want something as bulky as Docs, check out Thursday Boots!
Grooming and beard care products
As for skin care, I’m still experimenting with different products but lately, my favorite brand has been Bulldog. They’re a UK company that makes cruelty free products and they have a moisturizer and face wash for all skin types.
I know, I know, all of you are waiting to hear the brand I use for beard oil and mustache wax. But, I hate to break it to you, I make my own beard oil (if you’re interested, let me know!). However, there is one beard oil brand that I definitely support––Beardbrand. I haven’t tried making my own mustache wax yet, so I will typically use Beardbrand or Lockhart’s.
As for shaving, who are we kidding? I don’t shave!
So, have you tried any of these men's style and grooming brands I believe you should know? Did I forget anyone? Let me know!
